Embark on an unforgettable journey through Egypt’s rich history with a visit to the Saqqara Plateau and the Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
🕐 Departure:
We depart from Hurghada at 01:00 AM, arriving in Cairo in the morning.
🏛 Saqqara Plateau & Serapeum:
Our first stop is the Saqqara Plateau, one of Egypt’s most significant archaeological sites. The highlight of this site is the Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser (circa 2650 BC), an architectural marvel that is considered the world’s first monumental stone structure and the precursor to the classic pyramids.
Another fascinating stop is the Serapeum, an underground necropolis dedicated to the sacred Apis bulls. Here, visitors can explore the tombs where these revered animals were mummified and placed in massive sarcophagi.
🍽 Lunch:
After visiting Saqqara, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a restaurant near the pyramids.
🏛 Museum of Egyptian Civilization:
In the afternoon, we visit the Museum of Egyptian Civilization, a modern and impressive museum that showcases artifacts spanning various periods of Egyptian history. Key exhibits include royal mummies, religious artifacts, and some of the earliest hieroglyphic inscriptions ever discovered. The museum offers a deep insight into Egypt’s cultural evolution over thousands of years.
